New Deputy(Clan Meeting)

[Sunstar]

Sunstar sighed as the body of Redfang was carried away. Small tears where around the sides of her eyes before she shook herself and turned behind her. Now she needed to appoint the new deputy and she knew who it would be. She moved to the hieght and lept up on the rock that was full of the pawprints of the leaders before her. Closing her eyes she let the sounds of the waterfall flow in and out of her mind. With one last big sigh the warrior leader stood strong and proud. Her voice boomed out over the crowd.

"Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather under the Waterfall heights for a Clan meeting."

When all where gathered she nodded to each. "As you all know, we lost our deputy Redfang last night. He is now in the hands of Starclan." With a small shake of her head to clear her thoughts she looked at each and every warrior, kit, queen and elder.

"The time has come to appoint a new deputy. I say these words before StarClan, that the spirits of our ancestors may hear and approve my choice. Iceclaws will be the new deputy."

The female looked down at the male warrior. Jumping off the ledge and waiting for the warrior to come forward and touch noses.

[Iceclaws]

Iceclaws bowed his head solemnly as his leader called for a clan meeting. His heart clenched as she mentioned Redfang's death. The death he had witnessed, the death he couldn't prevent. Though it had been an accident he couldn't help but be angry at the loss.

"The time has come to appoint a new deputy. I say these words before StarClan, that the spirits of our ancestors may hear and approve my choice. Iceclaws will be the new deputy."

Iceclaws stood dumb struck for only a moment and quickly shook it off and touched noses with his leader. Everyone knew how much he wanted this position but he didn't think he would have gotten it this soon, or in this way. His happiness was dampened by the conditions and as he moved away he whispered to Sunstar, "I won't fail you."

[Morningflower]

Morningflower was one of the first to join her leader under Waterfall Heights, sorrow still in her eyes at the death of the previous deputy Redfang. But she looked up at Sunstar awaiting to hear her news. Her eyes widened as she mentioned Iceclaws name to be the new deputy, everyone knew that he wanted to be deputy but no one thought that he would achieve his goal so soon. Her eyes brightened and she was one of the first to congratulate the white tiger."Iceclaws! Iceclaws! Iceclaws!" she roared, her golden-orange pelt glowing in the morning sun.

She walked over to him and laid her black tail tip on his shoulder, announcing her prescence. "Congratulations Iceclaws! I know you will be a wonderful deputy." She nodded to him. "We need patrols, if you would like I could lead a border patrol across the Lionclan border and renew the scent markers?" she asked and sat down curling her orange and white tail over her white paws her deep orange eyes meeting his blue ones.

[Sunstar]

Sunstar looked at Morningflower. "Yes we do need to do some patrols. We shall go, if they need us we will not be to far away." She nodded her head to herself looking at Iceclaws. "Lets go." She turned to look at the other cats, shouting off three names for a hunting party and three more for the other patrol. This would not take long and with both the deputy and leader doing it they could talk and she could get to know another of her Warriors better. See if Morningflower was ready for a apprentice or not.

[Frostwish]

Frostwish watched sadly with her amber eyes, tears running through her reddish-brown fur as she watched Redfang being carried towards her, soon to be out of the camp and buried, to rest close with StarClan. The Sumatran tiger's tail laid on the ground and her muscles were locked, not willing her to move. She had been close to the deputy and had known a lot about him. They were good friends and had grown up together. She was devastated that he was gone, the ache in her chest too great to handle. She had only been the medicine cat for a short amount of time and he was one of the ones to support her when her mentor died and she received the position.

She asked for the warriors to stop when they came near and she stepped closer to her old friend's body, pressing her nose to his frozen pelt. "I will miss you, Redfang...but you rest with StarClan now. Sleep well, my friend." She cried silently some more when he was taken away, but she pushed the tears back and walked to Iceclaws to congratulate him.

Frostwish stood in front of him. "Congratulations, Iceclaws. I'm sure you will lead us well." When she was finished with that, she walked to Sunstar, her leader. She hesitated at first, but let it out, "Sunstar... I'm just slightly lost right now. Is there anything I can do that would be of use?" Frostwish was sure the leader would have something for her to do. She just couldn't think straight now, especially since her good friend had just died.

[SunChaser]

Sunstar turned to the healer as she came near. "Frostwish, would you like to come with us? I am sure we need more herbs. We can do the patrol as wel as get some herbs for those that need it." Her golden head turned to look at those left. Good the clan would be okay without their leader for a bit as well as the medicine cat. Only one elder had a small chest cough but it was being taken care of that that elder would be asleep till sundown.

Her eyes turned to look at the others. "Shall we?"
